By Laws and Rules for the Lakeview National Honor Society:
The Lakeview Chapter of the National Honor Society is an organization designed to recognize outstanding students at Lakeview High School and to encourage hard work and excellent behavior. The Chapter is duly chartered and affiliated with the national organization. The Lakeview Chapter hereby follows the National Honor Society Constitution. Please click on the link above (Constitution) to answer any questions you may have about the National Honor Society and our local chapter's by laws and rules.

Membership is open to juniors and seniors who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: Service, Leadership, Scholarship, and Character. Students who have at least a 93% cumulative GPA are invited to submit an informational form which outlines the activities the student has completed and demonstrates their character, leadership and service. ** In order to be eligible for application candidates must have been in attendance at the school the equivalent of at least one semester.

The Principal will appoint a Faculty Council composed of five members of the school's faculty who may serve consecutive terms. The five member Faculty Council evaluates the student informational forms and selects those students that they feel best demonstrates the required characteristics of the National Honor Society. The groupís faculty advisor is not allowed to vote on any issues surrounding the organization.

Current student members who fall below the standards by which they were selected will be removed from the organization.

Submitting Informational Forms:
Each year in February, the chapter sponsor reviews the GPA's of all Sophomores and Juniors who are not current members of the Society.† Any student who has at least a 93% overall GPA is eligible for membership.† These students will be informed of their eligibility by the group sponsor and asked to complete an informational form to help the selection committee get to know them better.† Students who do not complete the form will not be considered for membership.
